- גַּוְזַנְיָאpr. n. pl. (a fictitious denom. of גַּוָּוזָא II) Gavzania (Eunuchia), a fictitious place. Sabb.152a a eunuch (gavvaza) asked R. Joshuah ben Karḥah (Bald-head) מהכא לקרחינא כמא how far is from here to Karḥina (Baldburgh), upon which R. Josh. replied כמהכא לג׳ (Ms. M. לגווזאה) as far as from here to Eunuchia (v. Sachs Beitr. II, p. 13 2).
